Decades Ahead of the Curve

Dr. Stephen Adler’s passion for regenerative medicine and stem cell science spans over five decades. His journey began as an undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis (1982–1986), where he conducted pioneering neuroscience research at the Central Institute for the Deaf under the mentorship of Dr. Martin Silverman, a world-renowned expert in neural transplantation. Trusted to run his own experiments and apply for prestigious research grants, a rare opportunity for an undergraduate, Dr. Adler quickly distinguished himself in the field.

For his groundbreaking work on embryonic tissue transplantation, he was awarded the Grass Foundation Scholarship in 1984 and the Sigma Xi Research Award in 1985.

During the late 1990s, Dr. Adler worked with Harvest Technologies in Boston on applications of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for soft tissue healing and tissue regeneration. He presented his work at the Mark Wein Memorial Lecture at the University of Miami School of Medicine in 2001 and at the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstruction National Meeting in 2000. He authored the first chapter on “Enhancing Wound Healing with Growth Factors” in Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America in 2002 and presented on platelet gels at the 17th Symposium on the Latest Advances in Cosmetic Surgery of the Face in Newport Beach, California in 2003.
